This Listed Grade II cottage was in need of some love. Our Clients asked us to work up designs for a full refurbishment and a new extension for a kitchen and bathroom. After some delicate negotiations with the Conservation Officer, consent was granted.

The walls were refinished with lime plaster, windows were renovated, and floors rebuilt. The Conservation Officer wanted the extension to be a simple design to compliment the house. We included a super-wide window to captivate the view from the kitchen and flood in natural light. We also added rooflights set against the original building to bring in light and create dramatic upward views of the outside of the house.

A successful mix of new and old, the house met our Client’s brief and a lovely, warm family home was created, all whilst respecting the listed status of the house.
